Understanding System of Systems Development Using an Agent- Based Wave Model

چکیده
System of Systems (SoS) development is a complex process that depends on the cooperation of various independent Systems [1]. SoS acquisition and development differs from that typical for a single System; it has been shown to follow a wave paradigm known as the Wave Model [2]. Agent based models (ABMs) consist of a set of abstracted entities referred to as agents, and a framework using simplified rules for simulating agent decisions and interactions. Agents have their own goals and are capable of perceiving changes in the environment. Systemic (global) behavior emerges from the decisions and interactions of the agents. This research provides a generic model of SoS development with a genetic algorithm and fuzzy assessor implemented in an agent based model. The generic SoS development follows the Wave Model. The genetic algorithm provides an initial SoS metaarchitecture. The fuzzy assessor qualitatively evaluates SoS meta-architectures. The agent-based model implements the generic SoS development, the genetic algorithm, the fuzzy assessor, and independent SoS and system agents and shows the SoS development based on an initial set of conditions. A prototype model is developed to test the concept on a sample from the DoD Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) domain.

Development of a mathematical model to design an offshore wind and wave hybrid energy system
Fossil Fuels are always considered as environmental pollutants. On the other hand, the political and economic situations highly affect the price of these fuels. Offshore wind and wave, as renewable energy sources, represent the better alternatives for electricity generation. Therefore, it is necessary that wind speeds effectively be estimated due to the absence of field measurements of the wind...
متن کاملVoltage Coordination of FACTS Devices in Power Systems Using RL-Based Multi-Agent Systems
This paper describes how multi-agent system technology can be used as the underpinning platform for voltage control in power systems. In this study, some FACTS (flexible AC transmission systems) devices are properly designed to coordinate their decisions and actions in order to provide a coordinated secondary voltage control mechanism based on multi-agent theory. Each device here is modeled as ...

A more sophisticated understanding of the unpredictable, disorderly and unstable aspects of healthcare organisations is developing in the knowledge translation (KT) literature. In an article published in this journal, Kitson et al introduced a new model for KT in healthcare based on complexity theory. The Knowledge Translation Complexity Network Model (KTCNM) provides a fresh perspective by mak...

The aim of this paper is to consider what constitutes agent-based modelling (ABM) and how this can relate to archaeological reasoning. The development and construction of ABM models is an essential prerequisite for most archaeological reasoning. Both directly and indirectly, archaeologists are making extensive use of ideas and methods in applications that derive from archaeological, anthropolog...
